A couple, different from two individuals in a shared apartment, typically pay the full rental price for an apartment and then pay an additional second resident fee. For example, take a married couple where the wife and husband both need independent living. They will pay the base rent for the apartment of $4,000 per month (wife's rent) and the second resident fee for the husband in the amount of $1,000 per month. All together, the couple will pay $5,000 per month before any extra costs. If they needed assisted living, then they may also have to pay for levels of care and medication management fees. This is a typical pricing structure for a couple, but the structure can vary from community-to-community. Check out a community's profile page or email the community for more information.
